Lorraine assisted me with a very tough bankruptcy in 2019 and 2020. She exhibits the rare combination of compassion and professionalism when working with clients. Anyone looking to go ahead with a CH 13 or a CH 7 could not make a better choice than going with Lorraine. The system and Trustees are tough and she will always be on your side. Another thing to note is that Lorraine is very responsive to working over e-mail and Zoom calls. She always provided long responses ... answering questions and implications with those questions. Thank you again.

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

While scheduling the first appointment, we will give you a list of documents to bring with you. Even if you know all about your finances, it is still important to bring as many papers as possible. Because the analysis and preparation of a case is so detail oriented and complicated, it is important for our staff to have plenty of documentation. If you cannot find all of these papers, do not be worried. Just bring in as much as you can find.

Below is a list of what you should bring with you to the appointment:

  • Recent bills, collections letters, mortgage statements, car loan/lease billing statements, and tax notices.
  • Any court papers (if someone is suing you or if you are suing someone else).
  • If your wages are being garnished, please try to get the garnishment order from your payroll office.
  • If you have a car loan, please try to bring in your purchase contract (if you can find it) and a recent billing statement.
  • As many of your paycheck stubs or evidence of income (like Social Security and pension benefits) as you can find.
  • Tax returns for the last year or two.

A Chapter 7 Bankruptcy can wipe out and give you the fresh start you may need to buy a car or a home. Chapter 13 can help save your home. The Bankruptcy Court has the power to stop all lawsuits, including foreclosures. Bankruptcy is a legitimate option that deserves your careful consideration. If you are falling behind in your bills you owe yourself to investigate all of your options. We offer a free consultation, so you have nothing to lose to investigate your alternatives.

Our main office is located in downtown Chicago, but we have offices throughout Chicago and the Chicago Suburbs, to serve you. Please contact Lorraine M. Greenberg to discuss your particular financial situation. We offer free bankruptcy consultations, and we promise to provide quality legal services at affordable prices.
